Robert Spencer joined Keller Grover LLP in 2006 and works on class action litigation in both state and federal court. He primarily works on cases involving violations of California employment laws, representing employees against their employers in cases involving unpaid wages, unreimbursed business expenses, misclassification and failure to provide meal and rest periods. He has also worked on a variety of consumer protection, antitrust cases and tax whistleblower cases.
Mr. Spencer’s has represented clients against a wide range of employers. His clients have included employees of oil refineries, solar plants, construction companies, restaurants, “big-box” stores, check-cashing stores, temporary employment agencies, mortgage brokers, merchandisers, retail clothing stores, among others.
Mr. Spencer is experienced in all facets of complex litigation, including preparing new cases, and all aspects of motion practice. He also manages the various aspects of discovery in these complex cases including taking depositions of adverse witnesses and defending Keller Grover’s clients in their depositions. He also regularly makes court appearances to argue on behalf of Keller Grover LLP’s clients.
Mr. Spencer also plays a vital role in the settlement process of these complex cases. He works directly with thousands of class members who benefit from the cases Keller Grover LLP brings to answer their questions and to assure they obtain the valuable benefits obtained by these settlements. He welcomes any call from a class member to answer any question regarding a notice or a claim form.
Mr. Spencer received his B.A. in Political Science in 1999 from the University of California at Santa Barbara, graduating with honors. He attended Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, where he graduated with honors in 2005. While attending Loyola, Mr. Spencer earned various academic awards, including the First Honors award and making the Dean’s List. He also served as Senior Production Editor for the International and Comparative Law Review. Mr. Spencer is a member of the California Bar admitted to practice in all the state’s courts and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for Northern District of California.
